Old Man Mountain racks are the most versatile racks available. Capable of mounting to full-suspension mountain bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes, fat bikes, even tri-bikes if that’s what you’re in to.

Tested and trusted in the most extreme environments on earth (we’re still trying to get NASA to take them to the moon). Our racks have helped riders traverse Iceland in bitter cold winters, carried the gear of countless GDMBR riders, and circumnavigated the globe. The only remaining question is where will it go with you?

Want to use our rack on a bike that isn’t made for racks? Want to swap your rack between multiple bikes? A Fit Kit is all you need.

Old Man Mountain racks have been around the world, from Alaska to Antarctica, and they’ve carried everything from briefcases and beer to a month’s worth of provisions for unsupported adventure. They’re built to last and have a proven track record.

Trust us, the last thing we want is a call from a customer deep in the Peruvian Andes who needs a replacement rack! Whether you’re headed out to do some birding and bringing a tripod and picnic along, going on a packrafting trip for a week, a quick overnight just out of town, or riding to work, The Divide has your back.

The full deck has plentiful lashing points and the low pannier rails make it easy to take panniers on and off when gear is on the deck. They also move the weight of your gear lower on the bike, improving your center of gravity and handling.

The dropouts are adjustable so you can perfectly dial in how the rack fits on your bike. It comes ready to mount front or rear if your bike has rack mounts. If your bike doesn’t have mounts we’ve got you covered.

We make a full line of Fit Kits to axle mount the rack. In addition to fitting nearly any bike with the Fit Kits, they also protect your bike from overloading your eyelets, increase the stiffness of the rack, and raise the weight capacity to a whopping 70lbs! We won’t tell you that 70lbs would be fun to ride with. We’re just saying you can. And, it’s fun to note that the weak point in this system is your bike frame and not our rack. 😉

Everything the Divide comes with.

Old Man Mountain bikepacking rack comparisons chart to decide which is best

“A standard cargo rack vs the insanely strong and versatile OMM Divide rack is a David and Goliath story… Except in this case, Goliath wins… by a lot.”

“…Compatible with almost any bike, right up to the diameter and width of 29+ wheels…and I applaud all the options OMM offers to facilitate this versatility, especially given the confusing ‘standards’ in the bike world.”

Incredible fit and finish; light, rigid, and a joy to use. Installation was simple and taking the rack on/off is so easy. In use it’s absolutely quiet. Mounting pannier bags to it is easy with lots of versatility and adjustment.

Listen up! I was handed my dad’s old 95 XX team bike to shred on and shred I did. I quickly learned that I needed a modern bike with extra everything to tackle my local mountains. I then got involved in this weird thing called backpacking and trailbuilding??? Well, none of these bikes had a way to mount anything to. Literally not even water bottles. What the hell? Well, OMM has my back. They’ve thought of it all and supply the goods. I can now haul to my hearts content, and I have. The Old man bike now has Old Man Mountsin racks and is my cruiser / party ride bike. I can carry groceries, beer, and a small child all in one go up and down the mountain. For longer days, I can hot swap over to my full squish in just a couple of mins and reap the benefits. Their QR skewer and through bolts work as they should. If you have needs that can’t be met traditionally, this is the way to go. Sturdy AF, looks dope too. You get what your pay for.

I’ve wanted this rack for many years, but shipping to Canada and the shocking conversion rate from US$ to CAN$ turned me off. A few years ago I bought the Robert Axle Project thru-axle conversion kit so I could pull my BOB trailer with my MTB, and did the Banff-to-Whitefish section of the Great Divide route. This setup was rock-solid, but I ended up being the defacto pack mule of our group. This April I sprang for the Divide rack and a set of pucks; the shipping was amazingly fast, and in just over an hour I had converted the axle and had the carrier solidly mounted to my bike. The rack fit like a charm, looks like it will easily carry more than my legs and lungs will be able to, and is light/solid enough that I don’t think I’ll take it off even when just bombing around on our local trails. Well done, OMM! Can hardly wait till next month when I’ll be riding this new setup on Canada’s “Great Trail” from Vancouver to Calgary.

Excellent rack thus far. To be fair I haven’t used the Divide rack off-road yet, but I’ve used it under road conditions and have been very happy with it. It is very easy to install and, just as easy to take on and off the bike if you decide you don’t need to have it with you. I opted to buy the fit kit for my bike instead of eyelet mounting the rack. This enables you to carry a lot more weight, but will also make changing a flat take a little more time. You will have to disengage the rack in order to remove the axle to change flats on thru axle style frames (not sure how the QR style mounts work). Not a deal breaker for sure, but something to consider when deciding to axle mount or eyelet mount the rack.

Best bike rack ever. I just finished building a “gravel/atb” bike for commuting and extended rides in the Pacific Northwest (it rains 13-moths out of the year here). My experience with rear bike racks has been limited to what you can find at local bike shops (basically mehhh). This time I wanted a rack that could actually take a beating and hold serious weight — so I spent a few more bucks and I’m glad I did. The build quality of the Divide is more than outstanding, it’s amazing. Installing the rack was easy, the engineering is smart and creative. I highly recommend the Divide Rack, because this will be the last rack you’ll ever buy..

  6. RL (verified owner)

This company has actual, and extremely helpful customer service….real people, who seem to enjoy their job as well as providing useful info to their customers. Took the Divide Rack on a 3 day trip around the White Rim loaded up with 3 days of supplies and water with zero problems. These racks and the axle kits are bomb proof. OMM is a great company to do business with!

  7. Andrew Beckerman-Rodau (verified owner)

I have used one of your old racks – Sherpa – for many years for touring. The rack is excellent. However, it lacks a lower pannier rail. Consequently, I purchased a Divide rack to take advantage of its lower pannier rail. Unfortunately, I have been unable to use the rack for two reasons. First, the top surface of the rack is too short for most rack trunks. Second, the lower pannier rail needs to be lower. It’s current design doesn’t allow me to easily attach/detach my rack trunk and my panniers.

  8. Valerie (verified owner)

    I like mine, works well!

  9. Cindy (verified owner)

This is a very structurally sound piece of equipment that I would highly recommend. The company has been responsive to my questions, the install online video very helpful and the comfort riding MTN bike trails or long road trips all make this purchase invaluable for me!

  10. Alexandre Eichenberger

Great product, used it to mount a box on top, for my 20lbs dog. We have had many outstanding adventures. I had to build a custom extender on top of the rack, as the box extends quite a bit from the original rack.

I really love that the weight is mostly distributed to the axle, and folks at Old Man Mountain where very helpful in verifying that the selection I made for the axle was the correct one for the bike.

The only minor issue I had is that the bar that holds the rack on the stays slipped as it is hard to attach them with zip ties hard enough that they don’t shift (possibly an issue that is due to the longer box attached on top of the rack). I found that by setting the bars at a 90% angle of the bike stay eliminated the problem.

The designers may consider bars that attach to a collar to the seat post, esp for gravel bikes that tend not to have dropper posts. Just a suggestion.

  11. Jack H (verified owner)

Excellent build quality and no issue clearing 29×3.25 on my 45mm rims
    Thanks, OMM!

  12. Marta (verified owner)

Best rack ever! No need to say more! Just get yours and enjoy.

  13. Nicholas Hendrix

Rock solid and easy to install. The install hardware they send makes allows for you to install in a wide variety of bikes. I’ve got a crate strapped to mine, and I can really load that thing up due to how strong and stable this rack is. Highly recommend for just about any application

  14. William Windham (verified owner)

Absolutely great material quality and fit. My only small problem was the mounting hooks on my Jand bags were just a little too far apart to fit, so I ended up having to drill new holes in the bags to move the hooks in. And wouldn’t you know, the day that I installed the second one they announced the longer version.
Anyway though, the fit is great. It’s so nice being able to use the rear fender again, which I couldn’t do with the floating rack that I had attached to the seat post previously (since the bike has rear suspension).

  15. Kevin (verified owner)

Had this Divide Rack on the rear of my State All Road with 27.5×2.25 Mezcals for about 1.5 years and it’s been loaded all the ways I can come up with for bikepacking, hauling my stuff to work, or just out riding. It’s put up with being loaded down with two panniers and a tent strapped to the top and sending it on descents of single and double track routes. It’s even gotten to see a few thousand miles from a 1Up bike rack. The 1Up style arms aren’t an issue with the divide rack’s design and my bike setup so added bonus. Stays quiet and it stays put so I love it.

  16. Sean Coffey (verified owner)

Love this rack! Very well made. The axle mounting system is genius. I did have to do a little light bending of my straps that mounted to my seat post, but it was easy to do and now looks custom for my bike. Works incredibly well, and was very pleased how quickly they were placed in the mail. Great product and company. Thank you!

  17. Shane (verified owner)

I used this rack on my bike-packing trip in Guatemala last year. Mounted to a full sus mtn bike on the rear axle. We went roughly 120 miles and 20,000′ of vertical, and the rack had 2 panniers totaling around 30 lbs of gear on it. Held up like a champ with zero issues. In fact, another rider and I in the group were both using this rack, and we were the only ones in the group who didn’t have issues with our racks at some point.

  18. Ned

It’s a fine rear bike rack, very well made. Lighter would be nice. Works perfectly with OMM panniers.
    I highly recommend OMM gear.

  19. Patrick Saunders

I put the divide fat rack on the rear of a Quietkat Jeep full suspension emtb with 4.9 inch fat tires using the recommended axle shaft (purchased separately) and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The rack is a high quality product and very strong. Installation was easy and quick. I liked it so much I purchased two more for the other two Quietkat full suspension emtb’s I have that my other family members use. I added a Topeak Omni Quick Track adapter so I could use the topeak MTX trunkbag EX rack trunk. You can also use the MTX Trunk Bag EXP Rack Trunk with pannier side panels. Again the old man mountain divide rack is very high quality and works great.

  20. Bill Coady (verified owner)

Rock Solid rack for my Yeti. I really struggled to find space to mount enough cargo on my dual suspended Yeti for a trip on the Aquarius trail in Utah. Big seat bags hit my rear tire on every bump. I was dreading carrying a giant backpack until I found this. My whole trip was more enjoyable because I wasn’t worried about my gear, it was low, tight, and rearward so I could attack the single track without worrying about my gear. Worth every penny (and it was a lot of pennies).

  21. bingenphil (verified owner)

The only rack tough and stout enough ( and that I trust) to carry the spare battery that I use on my eMTN/gravel bike.
I tried ‘another’ brand first and the weight and/or vibrations tore the rack apart.
@ years now with the OMM Divide and not a hitch. I’ve even checked the tightness of the bolts a couple times and NO movement/looseness.

  22. Tom Kirkendall (verified owner)

Rock solid…..best rear rack I have ever owned, and that has been a few. A little on the short side if you have a lot of gear…. If so go for the XL.

  23. Noel B-D

The rack fit my bike with its boost rear axle and no eyelets! Super solid and no rattles! I started off using the included zip tie eyelets, but have since installed a seat collar with built in eyelets for the upper struts. The struts were plenty long enough to reach. Love it!

  24. Tomer (verified owner)

Bought a Divide rack. Installation was a breeze. Usage was smooth as expected. I had a technical issue with one puck after repetitive install/uninstall iterations, but received excellent service and the issue was resolved to my complete satisfaction. Recommend this product and compliment the company behind it.

  25. Dave Wilcox (verified owner)

Got the divide because of a trip. This rack was easy to install, carries ALL my gear, performs beyond what is advertised, and looks great doing all that!! I would recommend any Old Man Mountain product based on my experience with the company and product!!

  26. CDC (verified owner)

Works well to carry my backpack. Also have the saddle bags which I like.

  27. Mark (verified owner)

This is the rack of racks if you want something bomb proof and sturdy. Have it axle mounted, and run two pannier and a trunk bag. Have carried two six packs, two Crowlers, and 4 pints on it – plus my gear for an overnighter. It doesn’t budge. Plenty of lash points and space. Works as a partial mud guard! Currently have it on my gravel bike, it commutes with me on pavement, I’ve done a few overnighters with it, and it’s even ridden my local MTB trails in the woods. I’m already eyeing the new XL version that was just released!

  28. Ian Mc (verified owner)

For anyone looking for a rock solid durable rack .. this is it! installation is simple and very straight FWD. The videos produced by Old Man Mountain are incredibly helpful and insightful. It may not be the lightest in the market – but you will not find something more that is robust out there, the welds are great, the materials are fantastic … this won’t fail you.

    Perfect Rack. Period.

The Divide by Old Man Mountain is a game-changer—rock solid, beautifully engineered, and built to go anywhere. If you’re searching for a bike rack that can handle full-suspension setups like our Cannondale Habit 4s, stop looking. We struggled to find a solution that would work with both front and rear suspension, but the Divide nailed it. Fitment was flawless. On top of that, the customer service was nothing short of outstanding—knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Incredible product. First-class team. 10/10.

  30. John Peebles (verified owner)

Well made. Only problem installing on the gravel bike that I needed to apply a lot of pressure to flex the rack so it would fit on the rear of bike on the rear attachment points for the carbon frame. Otherwise, it fits and looks great on the bike, Giant Revolt Advanced. Very good build quality.

I will buy another rack when the USA government stops attacking the economy of Canada.

  31. Erik Stalte (verified owner)

Excellent rack. It handled 20 + pounds of gear on my first bike packing trip with ease. I love the through axel which provides a sturdy base. I highly recommend this rack system!!

  32. Mike Gordon (verified owner)

I recently completed a 200 mile bikepacking trip with the Divide front rack carrying two Ortlieb panniers flawlessly. Along the trail another rider saw my setup and was surprised that I could use the Divide with a front suspension fork (his bike shop told him that you couldn’t put a rack on a suspension fork) and asked who made it. I told him it was made by OMM. That is the best recommendation I can give.

  33. Angela P (verified owner)

In my opinion Old Man Mountain Racks are the best. I currently own a Divide on the front of my Salsa Marrakesh, a Divide Made in the USA on the rear, and the basket on the front (for daily errands). These racks are solid. The rear has been on a few tours already and doesn’t show any signs of wear. I would highly recommend these racks if you are looking for something durable that will last probably longer than you!

  34. Micah

I just rode 150+ miles on an expedition race, including a lot of aggressive singletrack, with my Divide rack on an axle mount kit and Ponderosa panniers loaded pretty heavy. This included multiple times breaking the bike down into a box and rebuilding, so I got plenty of practice with the axle. Verdict: this setup is rock solid and super easy!

  35. Max (verified owner)

I have the OMM divide rack and Robert axle project kit to fit my bike; everything was very smooth to install and has been totally solid on my bike for a year now. Really well designed, well made stuff, highly recommend.

  36. Carrie Rogers (verified owner)

Woo hoo! Day three of the Katy Trail in Missouri and the Divide rack is awesome! The fit guide for my Santa Cruz Stigmata worked like a charm and the mechanic at 2nd Ave Sports in Durango installed it with no problems. Thank you Old Man Mountain. 🚲

  37. Kevin Tice (verified owner)

Great rack-strong and simple. Have used as both front and rear rack, with Robert Axle through axles. Solid and secure and no rattles. 5 stars

  38. larry vickman (verified owner)

Second rack purchase from OMM (first was on a bike when it was stolen) and it is great. As others have noted, fit and finish are perfect, and the frame ‘pucks’ are solid. Recommended.

  39. RPB

My Divide is mounted to a Surly Ogre. It was very difficult (though not impossible) to fit it to the rear of this bike. I think having a fit kit might have helped, but one is not available. The OMM support was excellent as I struggled to get an acceptable fit.
That said, I have taken the Divide on about 150 miles of riding around the Mojave and Anza-Boreggo deserts loaded with 20 pounds of equipment and at one point 6 liters of water and about 5 pounds of food. The rack worked perfectly despite washboarding shaking the heck out of it for a fair bit of the trip. I have also completed a tour of about 1000 miles (70 percent paved and 30 percent gravel and mud with a fair number of blow downs) and again the rack met my expectations. I do wish the platform was a little bigger, but I all and all it is a quality piece of equipment that is well worth the price. I give it 4.5 stars

I ordered my Divide rack two years ago and finally got around to using it this summer. I used a rear fit kit to mount it to my mountain bike for my first solo bikepack, which worked perfectly. It was just a quick overnighter, but I would take it on a longer trip without hesitation. I was also able to swap it to my road bike, which is where it will get the most use, using the standard hardware that came included with the rack. The versatility is awesome.

Just took the OMM Divide rack around the Lake Disctrict in UK on a very hard 200km route. I had only one Ortlieb pannier attached to it, and it worked flawlessly. No sway, no palpable degradation of rear suspension performance. No movement of the plastic seatstay mounts. I really like the separate “top shelf” and the rail which make it easy to strap down a tent or something else to the top, and still clip on the pannier with ease.
To me, it also beats saddle bags hands down because it leaves the full dropper post travel intact – and boy, on some of the steep descents I needed it! I really like that I can re-use my existing investment in ordinary pannier bags, and not have to get new proprietary bags. 5 stars from me.
