For many years we have sold the Classic rack as the Sherpa rack. We chose the name in reference to Sherpas’ roles as porters not realizing it was the name of a people. It’s time we retire this name, out of respect for indigenous people in the Himalayan region and around the world. We have this reference here to acknowledge our mistake and to let people know that this is the same rack with a different name.

Great Fat Tire bike rack. Strong and sturdy. Piece of cake to install. Flexible system mounts to my Rocky Mountain Blizzard just fine.

Fat bike rack and fit kit arrived quickly and installed easily. Now the adventures can start with my new bike. BTW, this is my 4th OMM rack.

Did my first back country trip with newly installed rack. It worked great with one glitch, one of the bolts vibrated out, but I was able to finish the trip. I’ll use blue Loctite going forward.

What was really impressive is the customer service. OMM is super responsive and even called me when I emailed a question during installation.

After trying to retrofit several cheaper racks (I was assured by the manufacturers that the rack could be made to fit) I decided to spend the money on the OMM Sherpa rack. Money well spent. The rack fits great, the fit kit is the key. I would highly recommend this rack. Customer service is top notch.

Great rack that is bomber and looks bomber! I work on a farm and ride my fat bike there my greenhouse work tools on the back. This rack allows me to carry anything, without having to worry about weight limits because 70 pounds is quite a lot. The other day I rode home with a load of butternut squash, and change of clothes and an axe. I’m looking forward to taking my bike on an adventure that extends well beyond the farm!

I purchased a Fat Sherpa Rack in spring of 2020. I have a SE F@R fat bike. It has few if any good attachment points for accessories as it was not really designed for bike packing, but it has been a surprisingly good mountain bike. I use this bike in Colorado to bikepack, fish, hunt, and ride single track. I needed a heavy duty rear rack to carry my gear on these trips or at least be able to provide me “packing” options. The rack was received in a timely manner along with all associated hardware in good shape. I was able to attach the rack to the bike in about an hour. I used the bike and rack on a number of rides, fishing trips, and bikepacks in Colorado during the summer of 2020. I used the bike in riding approximately 250 miles on these trips on old logging roads and single track in the San Juan Mountains, Front Range, Gore Range/Mosquito Range. I used Bedrock Bags Hermosa Panniers to carry loads as heavy as 20 pounds each side with no troubles and only minor loosening of nuts and bolts holding the frame to the bike. I checked bolt/nut tightness regularly but did lose one nut on one extender bar late in the season. I was impressed with the rack. It is heavy duty. Rack was quiet on the bike with no rattling or squeaking etc.
I contacted them about 2 weeks ago to replace the one nut I had lost in 2020 and to have a few extras while in the backcountry. Tory replied saying they would send me what I needed at no charge!! That is service!! I have had other similar business dealings with the other side of their business, The Robert Axle Project, and have found the same level of service there as well. Long review but felt it important to get this out there. This is an excellent product for what I use it for and the service from Old Man Mountain has been superb!!
    Thank you Chris and Tory!

My Fat Classic Frame + Fit Kit arrived yesterday. Glad you guys were able to get production up and running again! Shipping was reasonably priced, and fast. All components were very nicely protected from dings in their shipping box.

The Rack and Fit Kit components were very well made, yet light. Their finish was perfect. The instructions that came with the order were clear, and easily followed. The on-line assembly video was helpful in showing detail on how the pucks and zip ties were to be installed. Having all the small hardware items (nuts, bolts and washers), in separate, labeled pouches helped to make assembly quick, easy, and guess-free.

I had one minor issue which was easily remedied — My brake disk was lightly rubbing a disk pad, after the Robert Axle Project axle was installed. A YouTube video on bicycle disk brake alignment showed me how to easily align the brake.

I’m looking forward to taking the bike, rack, and panniers out for a ride, once it stops raining cats and dogs…
